The cottage is ideal for couples who enjoy walking, with several footpaths leading directly onto the mountains from the front door. Blaenau Ffestiniog is renowned as being the former ‘slate capital of Wales’ with a strange, compelling beauty. It is also fast becoming one of Britain’s premier outdoor centres, boasting a range of activities from walking to fishing, horse riding, climbing and kayaking, and even inland surfing all nearby. Guests can glimpse into the unique history of the area at the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, with the Deep Mine Tour. This is also the home of Zip World Titan, Zip World Caverns and Bounce Below - the trampolines in the slate caverns. Also based at Llechwedd are the Antur Stiniog bike trails ranging from blue to black grades. For those in need of a more peaceful life, try the famous narrow-gauge Ffestniog Railway, with a beautiful steam train journey through stunning scenery down to Porthmadog, maybe disembarking at Minffordd Station to visit Portmeirion, the famous Italianate village. This cottage is also a great base for Snowdon, Betwys-y-Coed, the west Wales coast and Lleyn Peninsula. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
