Sea View House, Hornsea

East Riding of Yorkshire. Sleeps up to 5

Located right on the beachfront is this attractive mid-terrace property, on the outskirts of the popular coastal town of Hornsea. Perfectly placed for a traditional seaside family holiday, the cottage is bright and cheerful, with a nautical theme running through it. Tastefully renovated to a high standard, there is a spacious sitting room, with comfortable leather sofas and a cosy electric woodburner-effect fire. An archway leads into the dining room, which has patio doors opening onto the small rear enclosed yard, while the galley-style, modern, well-equipped kitchen, has a superb gas range cooker for ease in preparing tasty family meals. Upstairs, there are two roomy double bedrooms, one with stunning views over the sea, and there's a cosy single room available. With the benefit of off road parking for one car, guests can safely leave their car behind and explore the town on foot. A hop and a skip brings you onto the long, sandy beach, perfect for children building sandcastles and for long walks along the shoreline. It's a pleasant saunter along the promenade to the town centre, with a good variety of pubs, shops, tea rooms and restaurants. There are pretty ornamental gardens and galleries, including one by Tracey Savage, with lots of fascinating eccentric sea pictures. Nearby Hornsea Mere, the largest natural lake in Yorkshire, offers fishing, sailing and wonderful birdwatching opportunities, as does Bempton RSPB Reserve and Flamborough Headland. With the rolling hills of the Wolds to discover, with its pretty market towns of Beverley, Driffield and Pocklington, this warm and welcoming property is an ideal venue for a varied family holiday.
