Just six miles away is Coniston Water and for the more energetic there are the challenging fells of The Old Man of Coniston and Wetherlam, which offer a stiff challenge. Visit the market town of Ulverston, or explore a little further on the coastline to Ennerdale and the magnificent Scafell Pike, the tallest point in England and probably the most beautiful area in Lakeland.
