Cefn y Gadfa, Pentrefoelas

Snowdonia. Sleeps up to 6

Cefn-y-Gadfa is a secluded, three-bedroom cottage nestled in the lovely rolling countryside of Pentrefoelas near the Eryri National Park. Once a traditional longhouse, surrounded by stunning views, this charming homestead retains many of its original features. It is a perfect base for families, friends or couples seeking a tranquil retreat from which to explore the beauty of North Wales by car, bicycle or foot. Step inside to be welcomed by the cottage’s warm, homely atmosphere and its unique character. Recover from the journey with a restorative mug of tea around the woodburning stove or check out the attractive kitchen with its range of impressive appliances. Rustle up a scrumptious evening meal before gathering around the dining table or venturing into the garden – weather permitting - to savour your food with a sundowner and heavenly view. When it’s time for bed, you will find three neatly-presented bedrooms comprising a double with en-suite bathroom and two twins, along with a family bathroom. Both bathrooms have a shower or bath in which to indulge in a hot soak and unwind at the end of a long day. In the morning, explore the wonders of North Wales. You can drive to a huge variety of attractions nearby or you can set off on foot or mountain bike via well-signed tracks and trails directly from the house. The closest towns are Betws-y-Coed and Llanrwst, both of which are charming. There are wonderful houses and gardens to enjoy as well as a range of outdoor activities – whether cycling, hiking, canoeing, riding, or braving the adrenaline-boosting challenge of Zip World. In other words, there’s something rewarding for everyone. At the same time, you can lose yourself in the history of this enchanting area or simply revel in the magnificent landscapes. A little further is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Conwy. This ancient walled town is packed with attractions, including Conwy Castle, Plas Mawr and Conwy Suspension Bridge. Nearby, Llandudno is the largest seaside resort in Wales. Visit the beach, meander through Victorian shopping arcades, or ride the cable car up the Great Orme for unparalleled views of the North Wales coast. Whether you enjoy destination daytrips or energetic outdoor activities, Cefn-y-Gadfa is a perfect place to start and end your day.
