Waterfall Cottage, Lawers Near Aberfeldy

Perthshire. Sleeps up to 8

Aberfeldy 12.6 miles. Settled into the Lochside hamlet of Lawers, near Aberfeldy, Scotland, Waterfall Cottage is a wonderful family holiday for those who love to immerse themselves in the great outdoors. Park off-road in the Waterfall car park, and make your way down a small slope towards the property, finding yourself in a bright spacious sun room with stunning views which leads into a homely living room, where there is a selection of sofas around an open fire, and a dining area where guests can enjoy a heart-warming meal. The kitchen is amply fitted so you can rustle up delicious meals for the whole family; you can even dine alfresco! From here, a magnificent sloped garden can be seen, with access to the loch via a private beach, and with the sound of the waterfall trickling beside the property; this is a space you will love to return to again and again perhaps with a fire to keep you warm or a barbecue dinner. The property has a family bathroom where you can freshen up after a walk in the countryside air, before cosying up for the night in one of the four bedrooms, including two doubles and two twins. Completing Waterfall Cottage are some books and games, as well as a table tennis table to keep you entertained. You will be in a wonderfully peaceful location with fields on one side and a river and trees forming the boundary to the neighbouring property. Children are very welcome, however careful supervision will be needed as the waterfall and Loch are accessible from the garden! Lawers boasts wonderful walks alongside Loch Tay, and a local pub just a short distance away, however if you wish to stock up on essentials, then head over to the nearby town of Aberfeldy, where there is a convenience store and a selection of eateries, allowing you to end the day with a drink in one of the local pubs whilst resting beside the River Tay. The village is famous for its association with Burns and his poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy, and is just south of Glen Lyon, known as the longest, loneliest, and loveliest glen in Scotland. Enjoy a 10-mile riverside walk for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as numerous paths through forest and countryside, as well as a selection of cycle routes. Whitewater rafting on the River Tay is an exhilarating way to indulge in the scenery and history lovers can visit Castle Menzies, a wonderful 16th-century castle. Kenmore is a charming village at the east end of Loch Tay and has a marina where boats can be hired or where you can launch your own boat if you have one, and the Crannog centre is also worth a visit. Killin is at the other end of the loch and the spectacular Falls of Dochart are a must if not been before. With so much to do in the local area, there is bound to be something for everyone with a stay at Waterfall Cottage.
