Perfect for large family holidays or groups of adults, sleeping sixteen in the main building and four in the adjoining cottage, Greenhill Lodge and Cottage offers a simply stunning base for you to begin your highland adventure. Parking in the ample spaces available, you will travel towards this magnificent property and marvel at the beautiful Georgian architecture, as well as the 700 acres of surrounding heather-clad hills and beautiful garden. With stone floors and airy hallways decorated with vintage furniture and artwork, each intriguing decoration leading you further into this magnificent house with the feel of stepping back in time, you are encouraged to recline in a traditional style sitting room with an open fire, where the amazing traditional décor adds a sense of both opulence and country atmosphere, relax with a coffee and plan the day ahead of you in one of the three chairs provided, and from here you are led to a spacious kitchen/diner with a breakfast table seating ten people, equipped with all of the essential amenities to make cooking a masterpiece for such a large group convenient, and this is a space that is light and homely despite the size of the house, where plants, paintings and vintage furniture really add a feel of the countryside to the space, and if you are catering for a larger group, why not present your meal in the separate dining room, sporting bold décor and seating for twenty? For a more private space to relax, you can find a seat in the snug, where there is a TV and a selection of books in a library available, or you can head over to the games room to test your skills at pool. Within the house itself there are many rooms to chose from, when the night draws in, and each one is magnificent, beginning with a king-size room with a blue-green theme, sporting large windows letting natural light pour into the space, where a plush carpet, traditional curtains, a fireplace and beautifully renovated décor keep to the feel of a traditional house, combining to make a sleeping space that is simply beautiful, and in terms of refreshment, you can relax amongst the bubbles in the en-suite bathroom, fitted with contemporary white furniture and marble-look tiles. Next, a second-floor twin room offers two king-size rooms, with calming blue décor, large windows allowing a view to the garden, a stunning king-size room decorated in shades of gold, with seating and vintage furniture to create an amalgamation of contemporary and traditional, along with an en-suite shower room, a king-size with a splash of purple, sporting traditional curtains, furniture and an en-suite, a double room with homely patchwork décor, a double with amazing intricate wallpaper, a TV, with a mixture of burgundy and gold adding opulence to the space, a spacious double with blue décor with an enclosed fireplace, a double with an amazing carved headboard and brown tartan furnishing, as well as two singles, both with vintage furniture, one decorated in floral shades of green and one in a homely brown, along with a bathroom and a shower room to make sure that no guests are waiting to freshen up at the end of a long day. With such a great amount of rooms, there is plenty to chose from in the main house, however, you will also be renting the adjoining cottage as part of this property, offering a second kitchen, dining and dining space, perfect for a family breakfast, as well as more contemporary rooms; a double with fresh, white walls, simple décor and grey tartan blankets, and a twin room with two double beds, decorated with an eye-catching blue tartan and pale blue walls, including seating area, perfect for morning coffee. Trees line stone paths throughout the garden, with a sprinkling of lush shrubs and a huge lawn area, there is no shortage of space to play games or picnic, or you can relax with your party in the evening, enjoying the last of the sun with a glass of your favourite beverage in hand whilst you utilise the wonderful outdoor seating area available, with a backdrop of the garden and the beautiful stone rear of the cottage. With such a rich history and a feel of history and heritage within the property itself, you will be encouraged to explore the historical sites of the local area further, visiting Floors Castle, Cessford Castle, Kelso Abbey and the interesting Jedburgh Castle Jail, exploring the past with each trip, as well as the beautiful surrounding area. Closer to home, there is the opportunity to embark on fishing and golfing trips, or you can enjoy a walk through the woodlands and hills, taking in the wildlife and landscape. The nearby town of Jedburgh will allow you to restock on any essentials, as well as give you the opportunity to have a hot meal brought to you in one of the cafes, bars, and restaurants, or you can visit the Mary Queen of Scot’s visitors centre or local bakery.
