These two delightful holiday homes have been imaginatively converted from barn buildings. Dove Cottage (ref 26289) stands detached, whilst Swallow’s Rest (ref 27540) adjoins the owners’ home. Peacefully situated, and surrounded by farmland with walking and cycling from the door. They enjoy splendid views down the Allen Valley towards Weardale and the north to the Cheviot Hills. Whilst the location may seem a little remote, only ¼mile away, lies the busy village of Allendale, with shops, pubs, restaurants and tea rooms is a pleasant walk or a 5-minute drive. This beautiful, unspoilt part of the North Pennines is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Hadrian’s Wall, Keilder Water, and both the Northumberland and Lake District National Parks, and the glorious heritage coastline are a scenic drive away. Newcastle, Durham and Carlisle are within easy reach. The historic market towns of Hexham and Alston are nearby. Shops, pub and restaurant 11/2 miles.
