This beautifully renovated country cottage in the heart of the historic town of Lavenham, said to be the best preserved medieval village, offers the perfect retreat to get away from it all whilst still being within walking distance to the village centre with its tea rooms, pubs and a museum.
The cottage has been renovated in 2023 to a very high standard. Whilst keeping the character, the cosy lounge is perfect after a cold winter’s day to sit in with a glass of wine. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms again with a wealth of beams. Outside the garden is a laid lawn with a shingle area and plants, ideal for a summer BBQ or to sit with a Gin and Tonic and watch the stars in the stunning Suffolk night sky.
Take a step back in time as you explore beautiful Lavenham, nested in the heart of the Suffolk countryside and surrounded by ancient woodlands and rolling countryside, and is one of the most important and best preserved Medieval villages in England. Lavenham is also famous for being the location of many historic films and the TV program Lovejoy was also filmed here. Lavenham was also used to create Godric’s Hollow in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part one, Lavenham Guildhall, a 16th-century, higgledy-piggledy timber-framed building, became Harry Potter’s parents’ derelict house on screen. The village centre has many tea rooms, pubs serving delicious food and the museum is worth a visit.
If you fancy a day away from Lavenham the town of Bury St Edmunds is just over 10 miles away, perfect for some retail therapy, a visit to the Abbey gardens or a meal in one of the many restaurants. An ideal way to explore the town is to take part in a detective town trail. Suffolk has many beautiful beaches, and you can be in Aldeburgh, Southwold or Thorpeness within the hour. Southwold offers an array of independent shops and restaurants and is home to Adnams Brewery, here you can do a tour of the brewery. Thorpeness is situated around the Mere with its Peter Pan-themed island, here you can hire rowing boats to take in all the beauty. Aldeburgh with its famous fish and chip shop again has an array of independent shops and restaurants. Within 40 minutes you can be in Colchester ideal for a spot of retail therapy with its array of high street shops and shopping malls. A visit to the castle and museum is a must. Colchester also has a very large zoo. The Cottage is sure enough a wonderful base for your holiday that will make you want to come back for more!

Located in Sudbury, this cottage is on a river. Little Hall Lavenham and Corpus Christi Guildhall are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Lavenham Falconry and Assington Barn. Flo-ridaz Hovercraft and CurveMotion are also worth visiting. Take an opportunity to explore the area for water adventures such as fishing and other activities like golfing.
