Bedroom: With kingsize bed.. Oil central heating (£20 per week, October to April), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for multi-fuel stove included. Enclosed lawned garden with terrace, sitting-out area and garden furniture. Bike/equipment store. Parking for 1 car. No smoking.. At the base of the Strumble Head Peninsula, with its white-washed lighthouse guarding the Irish Sea, this cottage is a perfect small rural retreat just for two (along with a dog or two!). Warm, welcoming and comfortably furnished with beamed ceiling, a multi fuel stove to sit by and a mixture of modern and antique furniture the cottage is beside a private country lane in a row of five rural cottages, close to the pretty sleepy village of St Nicholas. A door from the sitting room opens out onto a small raised terrace with steps down to the secluded, enclosed private rear garden and patio- a sun trap.
This is ideal walking country and there is access near to the cottage up to Ffyst Samson, a Neolithic burial chamber on a rocky plateau - fantastic panoramic views of the whole of St Davids Peninsula including Garn Fawr - the artist John Piper had his studio here in a traditional stone cottage. Shopping for groceries is available in nearby Goodwick, Fishguard, Square & Compass and Letterston - award winning fish and chip shop/restaurant here too. The helpful host (who lives next door) is happy to advise on places to visit in the area. Beach 2 miles. Pub 2 miles.

The area's natural beauty can be seen at Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and Scolton Manor Country Park, while Last Invasion Gallery and Raul Speek Gallery are cultural highlights. Melin Tregwynt Woolen Mill and Preseli Venture are also worth visiting. Spend some time exploring the area's activities, including golfing.
