Vancouver was best known as a surveyor, navigator and charted the Pacific Northwest coastline in San Diego, California up to Ancourage, Alaska. Captain George Vancouver tribute can be seen from the upstairs window! The plinth of which the statue sits on originated from the west coast of Canada and sits pride of place along the Kings Lynn Quay front since 2000.
