Lilac Cottage is a mid-terraced barn conversion situated near to the lovely village of Govilon and a few minutes’ drive from the market town of Abergavenny. The property has open plan living space with a lovely stable door leading to the enclosed rear garden – perfect for letting your pets or children have a run around. Lilac Cottage is full of character and charm with exposed beams. There are two bedrooms to the first floor, each with fabulous beams, one with twin beds and Smart TV and a master bedroom with kingsize bed and Smart TV. There’s also a family bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. Bike, kayak and canoe storage is also provided (please bring your own padlocks for inside the storage).
There are several pubs within walking distance in Govilon and Gilwen, one being a traditional pub serving good home-cooked food in Govilon and another popular inn offering fantastic pizzas and frequent street food pop-ups on the canalside in Gilwern. There’s also a newly refurbished gastro pub located 2 miles away in Glangrywney, and a visit here is highly recommended! Take an evening walk or cycle along the Monmouthshire canalside or simply sit and enjoy the surroundings. Visit the town of Abergavenny with its historic castle and museum. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and cafés here for all tastes. Abergavenny serves as the gateway to the area’s fabulous mountains, the Sugarloaf, the Brecon Beacons and the Five Hills (Ysgryd Fach, Deri, Rholben, Ysgryd Fawr and Myndd Llanwenarth). Abergavenny is also renowned for its food festival in September where lots of culinary delights are to be had. For those looking for an adrenalin rush then Bike Park Wales is approximately 18 miles away. There are some of the best mountain bike trails in the world here! Lilac Cottage is ideally placed to reach Monmouth, the Forest of Dean, The Brecon Beacons National Park and Cardiff. However you decide to fill your holiday, Lilac Cottage will offer the perfect return to home comforts.
