Newtown offers a good selection of pubs, restaurants, excellent shopping and is famed for its arts and music galleries, museums and a theatre. The National Trust Powys Castle, soaring dramatically above its glorious gardens, is within easy reach. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Textile Museum and Robert Owen Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Roman Road Course and Maesmawr Golf Club.
