300 years old picturesque Ashley Cottage built of local stone provides a comfortable retreat with 2 bedrooms with 4 poster beds. For those looking for a relaxing holiday, it is located in the village where Isdaac Newton once lived and where his house is now maintained by the National Trust, there is plenty to do if you want. This semi detached property is situated close to the A1, in the centre of the village making it easily accessible from the North or South it is only 8 miles South of Grantham with its Saturday farmers/bric a brac market. The ancient part Saxon part Norman part later St John the Baptist parish thurch is situated about 100 yards away. Stamford is about 10 miles south with its many Antique shops and restaurants.
Rutland Water (water sports), the largest lake in the East of England, Grimsthorpe Castle, both about 10 miles. The Vale of Belvoir, 10 miles as is Belton House (NT)
There are plenty of walks and cycle routs, Twyford Wood (Forestry Commision) a former WW2 airforce bomber base with the old ruins of runways still visible is just the other side of the A1
Historic Stamford/Burley House, home of the Cecil family
is about 10 miles South.
Mini supermarket 100 yards, bigger Shop(CoOp) with ATM , gastro/pub both about 250 yards all night petrol stations on A1 about a mile away.
Buses come past the door on a dailey basis with the bus stop about 50 yards away.
on the other side of the A1 There are two 24 hour petrol stations a McDonalds a Greggs and a Burger King all about 10 minutes away.

Located in Grantham, this cottage is in a rural area. Woolsthorpe Manor and Ellys Manor House are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Belton Woods Hotel & Country Club and Stapleford Park Golf Course. Easton Walled Gardens and Nottingham Raceway Karting are also worth visiting.
