At Waterhead, the parkland provides beautiful views of the lake and a little beach, while a stroll in the opposite way along Stock Ghyll through woods leads to the captivating Stock Ghyll Force waterfall. In addition to the lake and excellent hiking opportunities, Ambleside is well-known for its yearly rushbearing ceremony and the quaint "Bridge House," a 17th-century structure that has become one of the most photographed structures in the Lake District and is now home to the National Trust Information Centre.
