Perfect for couples, families, bikers and hikers, the terraced properties are surrounded by a wide range of footpaths and trails radiating from the area, together with Beacon Fell Country Park, which less than a 10-minute drive, providing 271 acres of fabulous woodland to explore.
Set on the site of the historic ‘Cross Keys Inn’ means you have the convenience of home cooked food as well as drinks all day to take advantage of. There is a further portfolio of gift shops, cafés, food outlets, supermarkets and even a vintage cinema available in nearby Longridge, 10 minutes away, or head to Goosnargh, also 10 minutes, for their Goosnargh Gin and Goosenargh Cakes! Bowland Wild Boar Park and the city of Preston can be reached in around 20 minutes, and the historic market town of Clitheroe, also home to Clitheroe Castle, is accessed in around half an hour. For anyone familiar with Lord of the Rings, Stonyhurst College, 30 minutes, is where the rivers Ribble, Calder and Hodder converge providing the most idyllic landscapes and walks. This includes ‘The Tolkien Trail’, named after the legendary J.R.R Tolkien following his love of nature, wooded landscapes and connections to Stonyhurst College.
For a change of scenery the Fylde Coast resorts of wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham, beautiful St Annes and the glitz, glamour and razzamatazz of Blackpool can be reached in just over half an hour. Slightly further afield you can explore the gracious landscapes of both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, which can be reached in around an hour. Coast or countryside, you really are spoilt for choice. Beach 20 miles. Shop 5 miles.
