Red Lion House is the perfect property for a family break in the heart of the Northumberland National Park.

The spacious ground floor of the property has a great living room with sofas to sink into whilst watching TV or just catching up in front of the wood burning stove. There is a further sitting room, which also has a wood burning stove to settle down in front of and doors that lead out into 0.5 acres of walled garden..
In addition to this the property also boasts a study, so should you need to work whilst you are away, you can do so in comfort, with a desk to sit at and a wood burning stove to keep you cosy in the winter. There is also a mall library with books and games to suit all ages. A small wc can also be found on the ground floor just off the hall.

The heart of the downstairs is the kitchen/diner. With its oil fired range cooker it is definitely a pleasure to be in and will provide a gathering point when you want to cook up a sumptuous meal or holiday breakfast treat. You will have everything you need here, including a large fridge freezer and large freezer, Delonghi coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer plus a microwave. The dining table, which can seat everyone at the same time, is the perfect finishing touch to this great family kitchen.

Moving to the first floor you will find the master bedroom complete with a super king bed. There is also the addition of a fantastic en-suite bathroom which comprises both a walk in shower and a copper bath, where you have a fantastic view that you can relax into whilst soaking in luxury!
There are then three further bedrooms, one with a super king, one with a double bed and the third is a single bed.
There is also a house bathroom on this floor with a large walk in shower, toilet and sink.

The staircase then leads to the second floor where there are two further bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed and the other with a super king. Both bedrooms have fabulous views of the gardens and the spectacular countryside beyond.

Outside to the rear of the property the kitchen opens up to a patio and a fantastic west-facing walled garden. There is garden furniture making it a great area for you all to relax, it is also the perfect space for children and pets to run around freely and safely. Situated in the garden is a large, detached orangery. It has a wood burning stove and underfloor heating so it can be used all year round as a fantastic area to all get together for inside/outside dining. The table seats up to 12 people, so plenty of space for all. The Orangery also has a GPS Telescope (Meade LX90 Schmidt-Cassegrain Autostar) so why not enjoy this and gaze into the Milky Way. The National Park was England's first International Dark Sky Park. Sleeps: 11 Parking: Up to 5 cars. Heating: Oil central heating throughout with the addition of wood burning stoves in each of the 3 reception rooms. Underfloor heating in al bathrooms Pets: Up to 3 well-behaved pets welcome at an additional cost of £25.00 per week each. Please note, pets must not be left unattended in the property nor allowed on furniture. The nearest pub is only 0.1 of a mile from the property and the local amenities are only 2 miles awayThe village pub, the Rose & Thistle, is open Tuesday to Sunday for drinks and food. Sunday lunch in the Beer Garden is recommended. The Star Inn in Harbottle is a wonderful 20 minute river stroll away (5 minute drive). The Italian Chef serves up some great food for both in-house dining and takeaway.

The Red Lion is the perfect base for relaxing in the garden or with a book in front of a blazing log fire. Let your children and pets run safely in the garden while you enjoy using the country kitchen and sit down to family dining in the unique atmosphere of the Orangery. Explore the Cheviot Hills and the Coquet valley whilst the beaches and castle of the Northumberland coast are only a short drive away and the Milky Way sparkles from England's most pristine dark skies. Children will love to Go-Ape, take a boat trip and see the Farne Island puffins and seals or ride on the Ford & Etal steam railway. And the whole family will enjoy unforgettable day trips to Holy Island, Bamburgh, Alnwick Castle Gardens or Hadrian's Wall, all within an hour's drive on charming country lanes.
