Easily explored on foot, the town is spread around a main hub and consists of an interesting mix of buildings from 13th Century examples to those from the present day. The town offers a variety of shops and restaurants whilst golf enthusiasts will be well served by the 'Old Course' – constructed in the 16th Century – and the modern venues of championship events and the five alternative public courses. The area is also home to an excellent Golf Museum. Within easy driving distance are the towns of Fife, Dundee, Perth and Edinburgh.
