Town: Situated in the south of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a wonderful example of an English market town. With a traditional market square, eclectic street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses, the heyday of this settlement came in the 18th Century when the town was a fashionable social centre. Many fine Georgian buildings remain from this era, adding an air of elegance to the town's heart. With numerous restaurants and inns, Ashbourne is also regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters. For those who prefer outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by, offering wonderful walking opportunities. Alton Towers Theme Park is just 20 minutes drive away and makes a fun day out for all the family.

Located in Ashbourne, this cottage is in a rural area. Ashbourne Golf Club and Whiston Hall Golf Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Peak District National Park and Dovedale National Nature Reserve. Traveling with kids? Consider Alton Towers and Peak Wildlife Park.
