This property is ideal for that summer seaside break with the family - and for walking, cycling, golf, birdwatching, or kite-surfing enthusiasts all year round. At low tide this sandy beach spreads across the coast for about half a mile, a welcoming sight for any sunbather.
Set in the heart of the beautiful Romney Marsh, the flat landscape is perfect for walks and cycle rides along the coast. It is on the Cantii Way cycle route and within a five minute drive of three separate nature reserves. A visit to the nearby Romney Warren Country Park is a chance to enjoy 11 hectares of the area’s unspoiled dune grassland, willow scrub and ponds rich in wildlife. Meanwhile, if you’re looking for a scenic tour of the coast and just want to sit back and enjoy the scenery, the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway is a popular choice.
The area has become increasingly popular with water sports enthusiasts, particularly kite-surfers, and there is a nearby water sports centre offering water-skiing, wakeboarding, and freshwater lake swimming. Littlestone Golf Club offers a former Open Championship links course, and there are several other high quality links courses in the area - including pay-and-play.
Littlestone-on-Sea is a small coastal village close to New Romney in Kent, England. It was established in the 1880s by Sir Robert Perks as a resort for the gentry, at the point of the local lifeboat station. At low tide a World War II Mulberry Harbour Phoenix breakwater is visible as you look out to sea. The area has played in important role in military history, including the Napoleonic Wars (the Royal Military Canal and Martello Towers are within easy reach) and World War II (visit the nearby Brenzett Museum for more information). Its history has also been shaped by the changing coastline (New Romney was one of the original Cinque Ports, it was a hive of smuggling activity and two lighthouses along the coast reflect how the sea has receded).
Meanwhile, the sea, marshland and local vineyards offer a wealth of delicious fresh local produce. With plenty to see and do, come and stay at Littlestone!
