By The Byes is a very attractive Victorian house built in 1906 set in a quiet residential location adjacent to The Byes. It is furnished to a high standard aimed at making your holiday as pleasant and relaxing as possible. The house has 1 large sunny double bedroom newly decorated with new bed for 2021 with delightful views overlooking The Byes on the first floor. Bedroom 2 is a very spacious twin room on the second floor again a sunny room with views of The Byes and fields beyond. The attractive bathroom is on the first floor with bath and walk in shower cubicle. The cosy sunny sitting room is perfect for relaxing and reading, again with views directly of The Byes. The dining room with dining table and 4 chairs, and comfy sofa to relax and watch TV, DVD, and games. The spacious modern kitchen with new for 2021 large fridge freezer, wall mounted double oven and washer /dryer; and double glazed stable type door leads to the rear garden. We feel the kitchen is equipped with everything you will need. Gas central heating throughout, is easily controlled making a very comfortable stay winter or summer. Unlimited WiFi is available, so holiday plans can be made from the comfort of your sitting room. It has sunny front and rear gardens well stocked with plants aimed at giving colour whatever the time of year. The rear garden is slightly staggered from the rear of the house - a Victorian feature. A garden table, parasol and chairs are available for sunny days. Handy, unlimited roadside parking adjacent to the house.
The coast with its two main pebble beaches are a 10 minute very pleasant level walk through The Byes, and along the Esplanade. At low tide there are areas of sand perfect for sand castle building, while the rock pools provide hours of fun searching for crabs. The town with its wide variety of shops ideal for browsing, cafes, restaurants, theatre, cinema and numerous beautiful gardens are all a short walk away. There is adjacent roadside parking. You may prefer to leave your car at the house as it is possible to explore on foot or use the very good bus service. Honiton 8 miles away has good rail links.
Sidmouth is excellent for exploring East Devon and Dorset. Lyme Regis with its fossil rich cliffs is a 20 minute drive. Exmouth with its large clean sandy beaches is about 15 minute drive. The World Heritage Jurassic Coast with its many unspoilt beaches can easily be explored driving as much or as little as desired. For walkers, Dartmoor National Park offers endless potential. For golfers, Sidmouth Golf Course is a mile away The Donkey Sanctuary very popular with families is a 3 mile drive. The Sidmouth Folk Festival at the end of July/beginning of August brings music and dance from many parts of the world. For something quite different the city of Exeter with its cathedral and retail therapy is about a 30 minute drive.

Dog blanket and bowl are provided. We do ask that dogs do not sleep on beds as further guests may have allergies or pets. The Byes provides the perfect place for a walk.

Located in Sidmouth, this vacation home is in a rural area and on a river. Sidmouth - Valley, Ridge and Jurassic Coast Walk and South West Coast Path Section 45 Trailhead are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Norman Lockyer Observatory and The Donkey Sanctuary. Otterton Mill and Bicton Park Botanical Gardens are also worth visiting. Windsurfing and sailing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with horse riding and hiking nearby.
