Cozy 2 Bedroom Apartment at Heart of the Edinburgh, Edinburgh

East Lothian. Sleeps up to 5

## Space

Bright and airy apartment that has ample room for your stay in Edinburgh.

There are 2 Shower Rooms to use.

One of the two sofas in the Living Room is a sofa-bed which has a king size mattress, so the flat can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests.

Extremely large windows provide ample light.

Ceilings over 3 meters high in the three principle rooms ensure that the flat is airy and spacious.

The Living Room has original wooden window shutters (internal) that are in working order.

## Access

The guest will have access to the whole apartment whilst they are in Edinburgh.

## Interaction

I will be available to communicate with during your stay, otherwise I'll leave you to it to enjoy your stay!

## Neighborhood

The apartment is located in the 'Old Town' - right in the heart of Edinburgh.

Everywhere is walkable from this address. It is within 10 minutes walk to the Castle, Royal Mile, Grassmarket & Princes Street.

There are various supermarkets very nearby.

There are many amazing bars, restaurants and cafes all around the area. In fact, one of Tom Kitchen's (Michelin Starred) restaurants, 'Castle Terrace Restaurant', is just around the corner.

The Royal Lyceum Theatre, Usher Hall and Traverse Theatres are literally on your door step.
Three of Edinburgh's main Cinemas are within walking distance, one of which, the Filmhouse (host to the Edinburgh Film Festival) is less than a 5 minute walk away. The Filmhouse cafe also does very good lunches at a reasonable price.

Edinburgh's Old Town history, dates back to the time when Malcolm III Canmore (died 1093) after building his castle, and a chapel for his wife, Queen Margaret within its walls - now the oldest building in the city.

The Abbey at Holyrood, built by her son David I, and the castle became focal points of Edinburgh and a thriving community grew along side the road between them, now known as The Royal Mile.

It was from the 1500s that the town became established as the capital of Scotland, as the inhabitants, choosing to stay in proximity to the protection of the castle, built tall narrow buildings along a stretch known as Castlehill.

The area is also a great base for exploring further afar, with easy west-of-city access to both the Forth Road Bridge/North and Glasgow/M8.

## Transit

The property is located centrally therefore you can reach everything by walking!

Haymarket and Waverly station are each around 15 mins walk and the tram stop is on Princes Street (5 mins) with frequent services to & from Edinburgh Airport.

The city is also very well-served with a good taxi service - a rule of thumb being that £5-£10 will get you almost everywhere you want to get to from the flat.

Uber has just launched in Edinburgh as well.

Parking in Edinburgh is notoriously limited (anywhere). Therefore we would recommend pre-booking via Web Sites such as justpark. There are public 'short term' parking slots nearby on King's Stable Road, whilst the Castle Terrace NCP Car Park has ample spaces, though NCP can prove expensive. Alternatively, both the Airport trams and buses stop minutes away from the front door, so with most things also within walking distance from the flat, you may wish to consider if a car is necessary at all.

## Notes

My apartment is professionally cleaned with fresh linen/towels provided for each and every set of guests.

You will be sent detailed instructions for check-in.

The flat has a 70 Mb broadband Internet Link including Wi-Fi access, whilst the Royal Lyceum Theatre's own 'public' Wi-Fi can be accessed on the rare off-chance of a broadband provider fault.

This apartment is located in Old Town Edinburgh, a neighborhood in Edinburgh. Edinburgh Castle and Royal Mile are notable landmarks and Edinburgh Zoo is a popular area attraction. Camera Obscura and World of Illusions and Royal Commonwealth Pool are also worth visiting.
