The hamlet of Lillington boasts beautiful countryside and is only 2.5 miles from the town of Sherborne, which draws many visitors for good reason. There are 12th century castle ruins as well as the new castle, built in the 16th century. The honey coloured streets feature a historic abbey as well as numerous shops, pubs, cafes, and artisan boutiques. Those wishing to walk will find many routes weaving through this picturesque landscape or you can jump in the car and visit Haynes Motor Museum (10 miles), Fleet Air Arm Museum (9 miles), or Glastonbury (19 miles). The small, friendly village of Cerne Abbas, home of the Cerne Abbas Giant hillside chalk figure is within a short drive. The village itself has plenty to offer, including three welcoming pubs, a traditional Dorset tearoom and a shop/Post Office. Additional places of interest include Montacute House, Tintinhull House and Lytes Cary, which are in the care of the National Trust and all within 11 miles. The seaside towns of Weymouth and Bridport are located within a 25 mile radius of the property. A shared driveway gives access to the private entrance into this single storey property, newly built in 2022. Once inside you are met with a welcoming open plan lounge/kitchen/diner with many thoughtful details. To your left is a handy bench and space to leave coats and muddy boots. There is a contemporary en suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Patio doors lead from the lounge to a compact, enclosed terrace, seating area and gas BBQ which has far reaching views of the surrounding countryside, and to the side is a small strip of lawn, ideal for your four legged friend. To the front of the property is an off road parking space for one car, complete with an EV charging point.
