This holiday let is nestled in the grounds of a historic country hall, in a pretty hamlet just 12 miles from the market town of Hexham with its magnificent abbey, river, and beautiful Sele Park. Discover quality shops, pubs, and restaurants in Ponteland village (4.5 miles) and scenic walks from the door. Nearby Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens offer family fun and miles of gardens to explore. Enjoy fabulous walks along Hadrian s Wall (25 miles) visiting Roman Forts along the way. Roman history, ancient pubs, quirky shops, and river walks await in Corbridge (12 miles). Discover Blue Flag beaches at Whitley Bay and Tynemouth (22.5 miles) and Northumberland s many coastal villages and castles. For retail therapy and cinemas drive to the famous Metro Centre (10 miles). Set in beautiful grounds and with original features, step into this welcoming property's wide hallway/boot room with an original limestone floor where you can leave outdoor clothing and shoes, and there is an easy chair where you can sit quietly with a book. The utility room is off the hallway with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Head into the spacious and sociable kitchen/dining space with huge windows at each end adding natural light. You will find everything you need to prepare a feast for the family, including a range style gas hob and electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. You can sit at the kitchen island with a drink watching the cook in action and at mealtimes, the large dining table is the perfect setting for convivial dining in good company. A door from the kitchen leads into the spacious lounge with exposed beams in the high ceilings, and feature stone walls. There are two seating areas where you can spread out as a group; either relax in front of the cosy wood burner (first basket of logs provided) on comfortable sofas and armchairs at one end, or choose the L shape sofa at the other end to watch some Smart TV and movies. There is underfloor heating on the ground floor to keep you toasty and warm. At bedtime, there is a quiet king size bedroom (which can be made into a twin upon request) on the ground floor with access to a shower room with a shower and WC. Heading upstairs, there are five more bedrooms. The first has a super king size bed, ample storage space, an en suite shower room with a WC, and a separate bath set in an alcove. There is also a king size bedroom with an en suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC, two twin bedrooms, and a pretty, single room. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC. Outside, there is a generous, enclosed garden (30 metres) with garden furniture where you can dine alfresco. Private parking for up to four cars is off road and located on the garden side of the building.
