Located on the edge of the peaceful rural hamlet of Satterthwaite, this property backs onto Grizedale Forest. A tranquil haven in the heart of the Lake District, this 800 acre ancient woodland boasts fantastic footpaths, cycle paths, interesting sculptures and a Go Ape centre. Just 6 miles away, the pretty, traffic free village of Hawkshead is home to a charming selection of independent cafes and shops. No trip to this area is complete without a visit to Hill Top, the former home of Beatrix Potter, 5 miles away, or of course Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England, 6 miles away. Inside, this period property has been tastefully modernised to provide fresh, light and airy accommodation featuring exposed beams, elegant decor and a rustic country feel throughout. The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and Aga for keeping food warm. Once prepared, gather around the dining table to catch up on the day s events before choosing between one of the two Harris Tweed sofas to relax in front of the wood burner and TV. Outside, the mature garden offers plenty of areas to relax and enjoy the sunshine, from the patio with its table and chairs and arbor to the large lawn. The garden leads down to the Force Beck, a magical spot for picnics and paddles. There is also an external boot store, stone barn with fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, plus parking for one car to the front of the cottage.
