The budding historians in your party can also wander up to the fascinating ruins of the 14th-century Whorlton Castle set within an abandoned village or head over to the stunning Mount Grace Priory, House and Gardens. For the outdoor enthusiasts, there are scenic trails available right from your front door, the Cleveland Way being just one of them as well as the viewpoints of Carlton Bank (and The Lord Stones Country Park and Café), The Wainstones and Ingleby Incline which boast breath-taking views at their top.
