Clyne Cottage, Elgin

Morayshire. Sleeps up to 4

The charming town of Elgin, once known as Scotland's smallest city, is home to the semi-detached Clyne Cottage. This pet-friendly, former coach house is a great base for a family retreat to this part of Scotland, within easy reach of the north east coastline. You are greeted to the property with roadside parking before you step down into the enclosed garden with lawn and a patio boasting furniture so you can enjoy a bottle of wine as you admire the views over the town. Stepping into the property there is a contemporary kitchen to your left, with everything you need to enjoy a self-catering stay. Moving into the living/dining room, there is a dining table so you can indulge in a home-cooked meal with your loved ones or cuddle up on the sofa as you flick on the Sky TV and the warming woodburning stove. When the evening draws to a close, climb upstairs to one of the two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin which offers flexible sleeping arrangements. Both bedrooms have excellent storage space with a mirrored wardrobe and are complimented by a bathroom. Elgin has plenty of shops, bars and eateries to suit all tastes, whether you fancy an evening out or buying essentials for an evening in, it is also home to a history museum, a motor museum, a train station and some wonderful gardens and parks which make for a lovely picnic spot. Head five miles towards the north east coast to enjoy the sandy beach of Lossiemouth, as well as the shoreside golf course, the fisheries museum, the thriving marina and the nearby Covesea Lighthouse with its Royal Navy and Royal Air Force Heritage Centre. Also, in the area you can visit many distilleries including Avva Scottish Gin and Glen Moray, enjoy a picnic at the beautiful Lin Falls, get up close with the animals at the Speyside Falconry and take a walk around the dog friendly paths or the 12th century ruins of Duffus Castle. There is lots of exciting things to see and do, and with Clyne Cottage as your base, you won't miss any of it. EPC Rating: Band D
