The Old Sunday School, Bream

Gloucestershire. Sleeps up to 8

The Old Sunday School is a converted old chapel resting in the quiet village of Bream, just outside of Lydney and close to the enchanting Forest of Dean. A truly unique retreat, this property has been converted to an exceptional standard, offering a fabulous base to call home while exploring the county of Gloucestershire. Internally, the property boasts a wonderful mix of contemporary furnishings among original chapel features, giving you a real sense of character. The open-plan living area is the focal point of the house; this modern space boasts contemporary colour schemes and useful fixtures guiding you through your stay. Sit on the Victorian bar stools and keep the designated chef company whilst they get acquainted in the kitchen, finished in a luxurious blend of oak and navy units, among a selection of high-end appliances which are sure to inspire some home-cooking. Serve home-cooked meals at the dining area, designed with a vaulted ceiling to upstairs, before tuning into the Smart TV, mounted onto a beautiful walnut unit. Upstairs plays host to four beautiful bedrooms, each thoughtfully furnished to ensure luxurious sleeping quarters. The master hosts a super-king-size bed with Smart TV, so you can continue your Netflix show to bed, along with a lavish walk-in wardrobe and en-suite shower room. There are also two further super-king-size bedrooms, offering zip/link flexibility, followed by a double with en-suite bathroom. Those bedrooms without en-suites can share the family bathroom, enhanced with a freestanding bath where you can soak after a day of exploring, while the stained glass window reminds you of the original building. Carry the conversion outside to the patio area, offering a lovely setup for alfresco dining or a barbecue, while further seating can be found at the front. The Forest of Dean is less than a ten minute drive, offering a host of adventures and exciting activities, making it a real haven for any outdoor enthusiasts. After a day of activity, refuel with some pub grub and a well-earned pint in the village, or find the local shop and source the ingredients for sumptuous feast. Head out of Bream and visit the market town of Ross-on-Wye, where you can take a stroll along the Wye Valley Walk and admire stunning vistas, or stop off at The Prospect viewpoint in St Mary’s Churchyard and similarly enjoy the natural scenes of Herefordshire. The Old Sunday School offers a truly unforgettable escape, all-year-round.
