The Wheelhouse, All Stretton

Shropshire. Sleeps up to 2

This traditional courtyard cottage is set next to a former mill house in the rural village of All Stretton, two and half miles from the market town of Church Stretton. Set amongst the verdant countryside, The Wheelhouse offers a charming base for couples looking to break away from normal life and explore Shropshire, whilst offering many wildlife spotting opportunities, possible to spot Kingfishers, Herons, and Swallows. This pleasant annexe boasts a king size double bedroom served by a standard en-suite shower room with walk-in shower cubicle. The kitchen is compact but offers the basic amenities for a short break, including an electric oven and hob, whilst the utility houses a fridge/freezer and washing machine, handy if your adventures take off on a muddier route. On a nice afternoon, stroll up the hills to see the delights of nature firsthand. The village of All Stretton is home to an excellent pub, the Yew Tree Inn, whilst the nearby market town of Church Stretton offers tea rooms, pubs, shops and one of the highest golf courses in England. Set amidst stunning countryside, Church Stretton has often been described as ‘Little Switzerland’, making it a haven for walkers and nature lovers. Head to the National Trust Visitor Centre at Carding Mill Valley or enjoy trips to the medieval towns of Much Wenlock, Ludlow, Shrewsbury, and Bridgnorth, as well as the Ironbridge World Heritage Site with its ten museums and Blists Hill Victorian Town, Acton Scott Historic Farm and Stokesay Castle. There is even a gliding centre nearby. Soak up the scenic splendour of Shropshire from The Wheelhouse, perfect for a romantic getaway all-year-round.
