Set amongst the grounds of an attractive farm, about 15 minutes drive from the popular market town of Hexham and only 25 minutes' drive from the vibrant city of Newcastle, this well equipped cottage, on the outskirts of Riding Mill village, is a great base for exploring Northumberland countryside and coastline and the north east of England in general. Located near a number of Dark Sky Discovery sites, so bring warm clothing and binoculars for star gazing one night. Just a short drive away, you ll find historic Corbridge, once known as Corstopitum, a Roman garrison town by Hadrian s Wall with a crossing over the River Tyne. These days, it s home to beautiful independent shops, and the annual Corbridge Festival, celebrating music and street theatre. Head to Hexham to experience the area s Viking history, with its ancient abbey and atmospheric gaol the earliest British prison. Alternatively, your cottage is the perfect place to plan a hike from, with the nearby village of Riding Mill a couple of miles from your doorstep. Take the steps up into the cottage and you'll find yourself entering the kitchen of this single level home, which is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob and an under counter fridge/freezer. Moving into the open plan lounge/bedroom area, you ll find all the contemporary home comforts you ll need for your stay, including a TV/DVD, Wi Fi and a wall mounted electric fire with ample comfortable seating to curl up on. In the bedroom area, there is a cosy double bed, with bedside tables and alcove storage for you to hang up your clothes. The en suite shower room features a shower cubicle, with WC. The immaculately presented garden is set up as a perfect picnic area, with scenic views of the surrounding countryside. There is allocated parking available for one car.
