Angus. Sleeps up to 2

Charming and cheerful inside and out, this single storey cottage beside the River North Esk is within reach of a range of stunning attractions. Close by is Edzell Castle and Garden (2 miles), perfect for an afternoon picnic after exploring the village. Keen walkers can head to the Cairngorms National Park, where there are trails aplenty, including those around picturesque Loch Lee (16 miles). For sand and sea, drive to St Cyrus (13.5 miles) where there is a National Nature Reserve and beach to discover, and wander among the cliff side ruins of Dunnottar Castle (24 miles). Three external steps take you to the property's entrance. Step into the hall and leave boots and shoes by the door. The slate floor continues into the bright open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. At one end of the room is the lounge, with a two seater sofa opposite the TV and DVD, where you can spend a quiet evening in together. At the other end is the kitchen/diner, equipped with an electric cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer, as well as a dining table. Dual aspect windows throughout make the most of the natural light and brighten the rooms. Across the hall is the pretty bedroom, boasting a comfortable king size bed (which can also be converted into a twin on request), chest of drawers, and a chair. Continue through to the en suite, which has a shower and WC. Outside the cottage, there is a gravelled area with seating, perfect for an al fresco breakfast or afternoon tea for two. Relax in the fresh air and listen to the sound of the River North Esk as it runs near the property.
