The cottage is set on farmland and surrounded by the Galloway Hills, making it the perfect base for walkers and anyone looking for an active break. Loch Ken is 8 miles away, ideal for water sports and various other activities including quad biking. The area is part of a dark sky park, making it ideal for stargazers and wildlife watchers. The nearest shop is 3 miles away in the village of Bartaggart. New Galloway, 5 miles away has a good choice of pubs and restaurants and a visitor's centre with a year round arts programme. Castle Douglas, known for its food scene, is 15 miles away. It can be booked with The Nook, which offers two to four more sleeping spaces. Inside, the accommodation is arrange across one floor. The spacious lounge diner has a large sofa, which converts to a bed, TV, a dining table and French doors to the garden. This lovely social space is a great place to spend cosy evenings as well as to relax over breakfast or lunch. The kitchen is compact but kitted out with everything you'll need to cook up tasty meals, including an electric cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave. The washing machine is in a cupboard in the hallway. There is a double bedroom to the back of the house, and a shower room next to the bedroom. Outside, a pretty enclosed garden with a lawn and patio offers fantastic views out over the surrounding countryside. It makes a great place to enjoy breakfast on a sunny morning or an evening drink. There is a driveway to the front with ample parking space.
