The nearby village of Cragg Vale is something of a mecca for cyclists with the challenging incline rewarded by breath-taking views at the top and the village of Luddenden is also not far and is the location of Jerusalem Farm, a popular local nature reserve. The area is so beautiful it has been chosen as the location for a number of well known TV programmes including Happy Valley, In Loving Memory and Last Tango in Halifax. Nearby Hebden Bridge is a vibrant town well worth a visit with an exciting array of restaurants, bars, bistros, markets, an independent cinema, art galleries, and the picturesque Rochdale Canal. A scenic car ride over the moors takes you to the splendid Parsonage Museum which commemorates the famous Bronte family. The area is a must for steam railway enthusiasts who will enjoy the thriving Worth Valley Railway. Skipton is also an easy and scenic car ride away.
