Ty Gwanwyn, Mwnt, Cardigan, Ceredigion

Dyfed. Sleeps up to 5

This simple, unfussy, 300 year old house is tucked away along a short private lane. Set in secluded grounds of about half an acre, surrounded by mature trees and meadows, it makes a perfect environment for families looking for a quiet holiday retreat. The Pembrokeshire Preseli hills provide lovely views from the upstairs bedroom windows. The National Trust beach at Mwnt is just over a mile away, with superb coastal walks to be had and many other hidden coves and bays to be discovered. The resident Cardigan Bay dolphins and a variety of birds, butterflies and wild flowers are a delight. In contrast, the bustling market town of Cardigan is about 3 miles away and just the other side of the Teifi estuary is the village of St Dogmaels with its medieval abbey ruins. There are many local attractions, including the recently restored Cardigan Castle, yet this stretch of coastline remains relatively un-commercialised.
