There's plenty for cyclists both on and off road, including the scenic 2nd stage of 2018 Tour de Yorkshire route, or for more leisurely pursuits, a short car journey will take you to Haworth where you can immerse yourself in the history of the Bronte family who lived there, Shibden hall, the home of "Gentleman Jack" Anne Lister is also only a short drive away near Halifax. Cragside Cottage is a superb base for exploring all that this part of Yorkshire has to offer.
