As the evening draws to a close, venture up the staircase to retire to one of the well-presented bedrooms, comprising a double and a twin, each boasting ample storage for a week-long break and delightful views of the surrounding countryside. If you don’t feel like cooking one evening, venture to the quaint village of St John's Chapel where you will find two welcoming pubs, each serving delicious evening meals. Here, you will also find a village shop and a Post Office for picking up any holiday essentials. Venture a little further to the market town of Stanhope where you will find a larger selection of amenities, whilst the city of Durham houses an imposing cathedral, a castle and a choice of shops to explore one afternoon.
