Cottage In Church Knowle, Dorset

Church Knowle, Dorset

8

Situated in the picturesque village of Church Knowle, Dorset, this charming holiday cottage accommodates up to eight guests and offers breathtaking views of the Purbeck Hills from its garden. The property boasts a prime location, just two miles from the historic Corfe Castle and a short distance from Kimmeridge Bay, celebrated for its safe snorkelling opportunities. Families can enjoy fossil hunting at Worbarrow Bay, located five miles away, or indulge in sandcastle building at the sandy shores of Studland Beach, also five miles distant. The cottage is conveniently located next to a traditional village pub and is just six miles from Wareham, where visitors can find a broader selection of bars and restaurants.

Inside the cottage, the traditional farmhouse style creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Guests are welcomed by stone flooring in the hall and breakfast room, complemented by an ornamental fireplace and rustic pine furniture. The well-equipped kitchen features the same charming flooring, along with essential appliances such as a sink, oven, dishwasher, and microwave. The lounge provides a cozy retreat with comfortable sofas arranged around a wood burner, set against a backdrop of exposed beams and soft décor. A stable door leads from the kitchen to a conservatory that serves as a dining area, offering stunning views of the garden and glimpses of the cottage's original exterior.

Accommodation comprises four bedrooms, all featuring reduced height at the eaves, so caution is advised for taller guests. On the first floor, two double bedrooms are adorned with calming, neutral tones and wooden furnishings, ensuring a restful night. A bright bathroom with a shower over the bath and a second bathroom with an additional shower serve the first-floor bedrooms. Ascending to the second floor via two separate staircases reveals two twin bedrooms, each showcasing charming exposed beams and unique architectural details, including a Victorian ornamental fireplace in one room.

Stepping out from the conservatory, guests can enjoy the rear garden, which features a small patio equipped with garden furniture, perfect for al fresco dining while taking in the stunning views of the Purbeck Hills. The garden is well-screened from the adjacent pub garden and is adorned with a lovely lawn surrounded by trees and shrubs, providing a serene escape. Parking is available for two cars on the village lane directly in front of the cottage; however, these spaces are not reserved and are subject to availability, adding an element of convenience for guests exploring the beautiful surroundings.
