The tiny hamlet of Goodshelter is ideally situated on the edge of the Kingsbridge/Salcombe estuary, just a mile away from the beautiful beaches of Millbay and Sunny Cove. Visitors can easily catch a ferry ride to the vibrant town of Salcombe from these beaches. The cottages themselves are arranged around a shared courtyard that connects to the owner's home, providing a cozy atmosphere. Each cottage is well-furnished and offers flexible accommodations, ensuring comfort for all guests. The property also features a Wayfarer sailing dinghy and several rowing dinghies for those with sailing experience, available for use at guests' own risk.
Apple Tree Cottage stands out as a welcoming and bright space adorned with vibrant colors, complete with its own lovely garden. With the addition of The Love Shack, which is accessible across the courtyard, the property can comfortably accommodate up to seven guests. For added convenience, there is a shared laundry room equipped with essential amenities such as a chest freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, and ironing board. The enclosed gravelled courtyard, secured by a five-bar gate, offers ample parking for guests.
It is important to note that during spring high tides, which occur throughout the year, access to the property may be affected for about an hour on either side of high water, particularly when crossing the fords on the tidal road. To assist guests in planning their arrival, tide tables will be provided along with travel directions.
