Originally built in 1902 for Harben J Valentine, a photographic publisher, the house has a rich history, including a catastrophic fire in 1910 that led to a redesign by Baillie Scott. The property has undergone various transformations, serving as a family home and later as a hotel, with recent restorations maintaining its Arts and Crafts style through the use of solid oak beams and a blend of contemporary and antique furnishings.
