Cottage In Water Yeat, Cumbria

Water Yeat, Cumbria

6

Nestled in the tranquil hamlet of Water Yeat, Cumbria, this charming cottage offers a peaceful retreat for up to six guests. Located at the southern end of Coniston Water, it provides direct access to a private pathway leading to a secluded beach for residents. The surrounding area is rich with natural beauty, featuring numerous walking routes through lush woodlands and along the lake’s edge. Adventurous visitors can enjoy kayaking to nearby Peel Island or Wild Cat Island, both of which are notable from the beloved children's novel, Swallows and Amazons. For those seeking a challenge, the nearby Old Man of Coniston presents a rewarding hike with stunning panoramic views of the Lake District from its summit.

The cottage itself welcomes guests with a spacious hallway designed for convenience, allowing visitors to store their outdoor gear after a day of exploration. A well-appointed lounge and dining area invite relaxation, featuring a cozy wood burner and a television for entertainment. The dining space accommodates six people, perfect for sharing meals prepared in the fully equipped kitchen, which includes modern appliances such as an electric oven, gas hob, and dishwasher. A back door opens onto a lovely patio, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living.

Upstairs, the accommodation comprises three inviting bedrooms, including a master suite with a double bed and en suite bathroom equipped with a walk-in shower. The two additional twin rooms boast delightful woodland views and share a family bathroom with both a shower and bathtub. The outdoor space is equally appealing, featuring a patio area with dining furniture and a BBQ, surrounded by sloping woodlands that attract a variety of wildlife, providing a serene backdrop for relaxation.

Set within a private courtyard, the cottage offers parking for two cars at the entrance. Guests can enjoy a short, dog-friendly walk leading to the shared swimming beach, enhancing the outdoor experience. However, it is worth noting that parts of the nearby woodland were severely affected by storms in late 2021, resulting in fallen trees and damaged pathways. While much of the woodland remains accessible, visitors are advised to exercise caution as repairs are underway. This cottage promises a delightful stay, combining comfort with the natural beauty of the Lake District.
