Further afield, the charming seaside village of Seahouses is only three miles away, providing opportunities for boat trips to the Farne Islands, where visitors can observe grey seals and migratory seabirds. The region is rich in history and leisure activities, featuring numerous castles, golf courses, and stately homes, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Garden, located half an hour south of Budle Bay.

The island is home to the 16th-century Lindisfarne Castle, which is visible from the kitchen of the accommodation. Additionally, the surrounding Cheviots and moors provide excellent walking, cycling, and pony trekking opportunities.
