Located in Portmahomack, near Tain in the Scottish Highlands, The Paddock is a comfortable single-storey cottage that accommodates up to five guests. Nestled in a scenic rural setting and just a mile from the picturesque fishing village of Portmahomack, the cottage offers a tranquil retreat while being close to the coast. The property features a welcoming atmosphere with essential amenities, including electric central heating, fibre optic Wi-Fi, and a welcome pack. Guests can enjoy the enclosed garden with outdoor seating, as well as private parking for three cars, ensuring a comfortable stay.

The interior of The Paddock is thoughtfully designed, comprising a spacious living room that boasts lovely views of the surrounding fields, complete with an electric wood burner and entertainment options such as a 32" Sky TV and DVD player. The well-equipped kitchen/dining area includes modern appliances like an electric oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The cottage features three tastefully decorated bedrooms: a super king-size room, a double, and a single, along with a bathroom that includes a shower over the bath and a heated towel rail.

Portmahomack itself is a vibrant seaside village known for its fishing harbour, sandy beach, and breathtaking sunsets, being the only village on Scotland's east coast that faces directly west. Visitors can explore local attractions, including a renowned seafood restaurant, a café, and the traditional Tarbat Golf Club. The village is also rich in history, with archaeological sites and the Tarbat Discovery Centre nearby, showcasing a collection of Pict, Norse, and medieval artifacts. This cultural heritage adds to the appeal of the area, making it an ideal destination for history enthusiasts.

Just a short drive away, the Royal Burgh of Tain offers additional attractions, including the Tain Museum, home to the famous Tain Silver Collection. Tain is characterized by its charming sandstone buildings and a variety of shops, restaurants, and recreational facilities, including Tain Golf Course, which overlooks the Dornoch Firth. Additionally, visitors can tour the famous Glenmorangie Distillery, located just outside Tain, to sample the renowned whisky. The Paddock can also be booked alongside two other cottages, Sheaf Dale and Grieve’s Cottage, to accommodate larger groups of up to 15 guests, making it a versatile option for family gatherings or group retreats.
