For those wishing to explore sandy beaches, popular destinations such as East Portlemouth, Slapton, and Blackpool Sands are conveniently located within a 20-minute drive from the cottage.

Guests should be aware that the lighthouse is operational and may receive visitors from 10 am to 5 pm during the Easter to October season. While the cottage welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs for an additional charge, families with infants under one year are also accommodated, although children must be over 11 years old for safety reasons. The cottage features a travel cot and highchair available upon request, and guests are reminded that they are renting a heritage building, which may include non-modern features such as steps and varying floor levels.

While the remote location provides a peaceful escape, guests should note that mobile signal is very limited, and Wi-Fi availability is not guaranteed, primarily supporting light browsing. Additionally, the access roads to the lighthouse are narrow with limited passing places, and maintenance staff may occasionally visit to ensure the lighthouse's upkeep. Guests are encouraged to bring their own barbecue, adhering to safety precautions, but should refrain from using fireworks, drones, or charging electric vehicles on-site.
