The open plan living space features a cozy lounge with a 32" Freeview TV, a dining area, and a well-equipped kitchen that includes an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The cottage accommodates up to four guests, with two double bedrooms on the first floor and a contemporary shower room with a walk-in shower.

Rich in history, The Old Smithy dates back to before 1730 and has served various purposes over the years, including a stable and smithy. Its location on Wightmans Wynd is notable, named after Charles Wightman, a merchant and Jacobite sympathizer. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dining options, from award-winning fish and chip shops to Michelin-starred restaurants. The charming streets are perfect for exploration, and the Fife Coastal Path offers stunning views and access to secluded coves and picturesque fishing villages. With St Andrews just 9 miles away, golf enthusiasts can indulge in the sport at one of the many championship courses in the region.

Throughout the year, Anstruther hosts numerous festivals and events, including summer food and arts festivals and an annual lifeboat gala, providing entertainment for visitors of all ages. The area is also home to several heritage sites, including the Scottish Fisheries Museum, making The Old Smithy an ideal base for those looking to immerse themselves in local culture and history. With its prime location, modern amenities, and rich historical significance, The Old Smithy is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to enjoy a seaside holiday in Scotland.
