Bryntrisant has historical roots dating back to the 1840s, originally serving as a home for a Cornish tin miner and his family who relocated to work in local lead mines. Over the years, the cottage transformed into a small shop and later became a residence for weavers. The recent restoration of the cottage has preserved its traditional features, including exposed stone walls and a striking fireplace. The nearby Bwlch Nant Yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre offers a unique experience with a daily feeding program for red kites, presenting an opportunity to witness these magnificent birds up close. Additionally, the Hafod Estate features numerous well-marked walking trails suitable for various fitness levels, enhancing the outdoor adventure experience.

Just two miles from Bryntrisant lies the village of Devil's Bridge, famous for its stunning waterfalls and the steep staircase known as Jacob's Ladder, which leads visitors to breathtaking views at the base of the falls.
