Located near Helston in Cornwall, Lizard Lighthouse is a historic and fully operational lighthouse that has been guiding mariners since its establishment in 1619. The iconic structure features two white towers, which were constructed in 1751 by entrepreneur Thomas Fonnereau, and became operational on August 22 of that year. Over the years, the lighthouse has undergone various upgrades, including electrification in 1924 and automation in 1998. With a remarkable light range of 26 miles and an automatic fog signal that activates within a 3-mile radius during misty conditions, Lizard Lighthouse remains a vital navigational aid along the Cornish coast.

Guests staying at the lighthouse can enjoy the nearby Lizard Village, which is conveniently located just a quarter-mile away. This charming village offers a selection of shops, restaurants, and a welcoming pub, providing visitors with ample opportunities to explore local cuisine and culture. The lighthouse accommodates up to four guests and is pet-friendly, allowing two well-behaved dogs for an additional fee. Families with young children can request a travel cot and highchair to enhance their stay.

It is important for guests to note that Lizard Lighthouse does not offer WiFi, and mobile signal is very limited; however, a telephone with an honesty box is available for communication needs. The property is a heritage building, which means that certain architectural features may differ from modern standards, including steps and varying floor levels. Guests are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the premises upon arrival and to exercise caution, particularly when navigating the narrow access roads that may have limited passing places and overhanging vegetation during certain seasons.

While guests are welcome to bring their own barbecue, they must adhere to safety precautions outlined in the arrival information. Restrictions are in place regarding the use of fireworks, drones, and remote-controlled flying equipment to maintain a peaceful environment. Additionally, children must be supervised at all times due to the lighthouse's unique location and surroundings. Lastly, it is important to note that charging of electric cars is not permitted on the property, ensuring that the historic site remains preserved for future visitors.
