This cosy cottage, converted from original farm buildings, features an open-plan living space with a wooden floor, a welcoming living area complete with a wood burner, a 32" Freesat TV, and a dining area that seamlessly integrates with a well-equipped kitchen. The ground floor also includes a separate toilet for convenience, while upstairs, guests can find two comfortably furnished bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The cottage is designed for comfort and practicality, with amenities such as Economy 7 heating, electricity, bed linen, towels, and logs for the wood burner included in the rental. A travel cot and highchair are available upon request, ensuring that families have everything they need for a pleasant stay. Additionally, guests can enjoy the convenience of a shared utility room equipped with a freezer, washing machine, and tumble dryer. The enclosed lawned garden, shared with the adjacent Rowan Cottage, features garden furniture and picnic tables, providing a lovely outdoor space to relax and enjoy the surrounding beauty.

Birch Cottage is situated on the Glenrossal Estate, which boasts a remarkable 2½ mile stretch of the River Cassley, renowned for its salmon fishing. Six rods are available for guests to use, with fishing split into two beats, allowing for a unique fishing experience. For those new to the sport, a small loch behind the cottages serves as an excellent practice area. The estate also features a comfortable fishermen’s hut for breaks between fishing sessions. Beyond fishing, the local area is rich in natural beauty, with numerous hill lochs teeming with wild brown trout, making it a paradise for fishing enthusiasts.

In addition to its fishing opportunities, Birch Cottage serves as a gateway to the Highlands, with Ullapool just a 45-minute drive away, offering breathtaking views along the way. Guests can also explore the picturesque sandstone villages of Dornoch, Golspie, and Brora to the east, each known for their stunning sandy beaches and prestigious golf courses. For larger groups, Birch Cottage can be booked alongside Keeper’s House and Rowan Cottage, accommodating up to 15 guests.
