Nestled just off the picturesque Taw Valley, this former barn, which dates back to the same era as the main house, ‘Nethercott,’ was built in 1862 by the Earl of Portsmouth. The conversion of ‘The Arches’ began in 2010 and was completed in mid-2012, using local materials and craftsmanship to retain the building's traditional character. The accommodation boasts a harmonious blend of old and new, featuring stone, oak, and slate in its construction, while the interior combines modern elements with classic design, creating a spacious and inviting atmosphere perfect for large families or groups seeking a retreat from city life.

Accommodating up to 20 guests, ‘The Lower & Upper Arches’ consists of 6 bedrooms and 2 large sofa beds in the lounge/dining areas. The ‘Lower Arches’ features 3 bedrooms with king or super-king beds, luxurious cotton linens, and deep pile carpets. Guests can enjoy modern amenities, including a fully equipped kitchen, a 50” plasma TV, and a spacious dining area. Each bedroom is furnished with solid oak furniture and has hairdryers available, while one master bedroom includes an en-suite wet room with a high-volume power shower. The open-plan design enhances the sense of space and comfort, making it ideal for larger gatherings.

Similarly, the ‘Upper Arches’ offers 3 bedrooms with the same high-quality furnishings and amenities, including an en-suite bathroom in one of the master bedrooms. The kitchen in this unit is also fully equipped, featuring modern appliances and an expansive dining area that can accommodate up to 18 guests. Both units are designed to ensure comfort and convenience, with additional features such as soundproofing, light-blocking curtains, and low-temperature central heating to enhance the guest experience.
