Dark Street, where the property is situated, is one of the oldest streets in the town. Originally constructed around 1275 as two separate houses, the building has served various purposes over the centuries, including being occupied by cork cutters, bakers, and grocers. After a period of disrepair, the current owners purchased the property in 2011 and undertook extensive renovations, uncovering fascinating historical artifacts, such as ancient children's shoes believed to be good luck charms, and restoring the vaulted cellar which now enhances the accommodation's character.

In terms of local attractions, guests have easy access to a variety of shops, cafés, pubs, and restaurants, including the award-winning Haverfordwest Farmers’ Market held every Friday along the riverside. This market offers an array of local produce, including fresh seafood, organic meats, artisan cheeses, and traditional cakes.
