Situated in the midst of natural oak and beech woodland, these four micro lodges (refs UK13174, UK13175, UK13176 and UK13177) can be found in the exclusive ‘Woodland Glade’ glamping site on grounds of historic Browsholme Hall Estate, in the heart of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Designed for couples and young families alike, looking for a unique getaway in the countryside, they make the perfect place to relax, unwind and explore in stunning wooded surroundings. Each micro lodge has been beautifully designed and named after native hardwood trees. They are completely self-contained with a double bed, an en-suite shower room, a kitchenette, and a living area with a sofa or sofa bed. Oak (ref UK13174) offers just a little more space for those special occasions, and Elm (ref UK13176) is happy to welcome four-legged friends. For those craving a digital detox, the environment is perfect, with no TVs or Wi-Fi, giving you the opportunity to really slow things down.
Browsholme Hall itself is a nationally important Grade I listed historic house, which also remains a family home and, in fact, has claim to being the oldest surviving family home in Lancashire. The Hall is surrounded by picturesque gardens and parkland, and each Wednesday between May and October visitors are invited to share Browsholme’s rich history with a tour of the Hall and/or gardens (please check dates before booking, and charges apply). The on-site Tithe Barn Tea Room opens specifically during these occasions, and is where you can drop in for a light lunch or afternoon tea. Outside these times, you’ll find many pubs and inns nearby, some of which are even award winning!
A mere 10-minute drive will take you to the ancient market town of Clitheroe where you’ll find a good range of independent shops. Also close by is Bowland Wild Boar Park and Leagram Organic Dairy, which has been featured on BBC’s Countryfile. There’s a variety of walking and cycling routes around the Ribble Valley and the Forest of Bowland, and if you’ve not brought a bike, they can be hired and delivered to Browsholme Hall through the Cycle Adventure website (charges apply). Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales National Park can be reached in around 45 minutes, and the Lake District National Park and Fylde coast in just over an hour. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.
