Mortimer Court is a lovely terraced property, part of a building that is over three hundred and fifty years old, retaining some charming original features to remind you of its long history.

Located in the heart of Ludlow’s historic conservation area and spanning three stories, the house is situated to the rear of what used to be the ’Green Dragon Inn’ on Old Street. The ground floor was originally used as the stables to house the horses that brought barrels and brewing ingredients to the inn and neighbouring brewery. The stone haunches set in the ground protected cart wheels as they turned into the building.

The house is approached by a hidden private alleyway with gates, beneath the foliage of potted plants, placed by the residents and creating a little tranquil haven. The ground floor is a bright, well-lit open plan room containing kitchen, dining and living areas. The kitchen has modern fitted units and is well-equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge.

The cosy living area retains the original fireplace which now houses an electric flame effect, stove style fire. There is a Smart television and Wi-Fi is provided. The extending dining table can seat up to six guests comfortably, while outside there is a smaller bistro table and chairs, ideal for al fresco dining.

On the first floor is a shower room and double bedroom. The shower room contains a modern shower cubicle, basin and toilet. The bedroom has historic architectural feature moldings and wooden beams, an iron-framed double bed and ample storage in the large walk-in wardrobe.

The second floor has a room-sized landing space with great views over the rooftops and gardens down to the river. Step through the doorway into another double bedroom and more exposed oak beams, as well as modern en-suite shower room.

The entire house has been lovingly decorated with plush carpets and laminate flooring. There is modern gas central heating with radiators throughout to keep the home cosy, warm and pleasant.

There is a parking spot 5-minutes’ walk from the property (based on walking 3mph). If you would like to supply your registration details to the owners a couple of days prior to arrival, they will ensure that the security cameras recognize your number plate. Shop 275 yards, pub 165 yards and 110 yards.
